A goal in CiviQ is a savings target with a name, an amount, and a deadline. CiviQ tracks your progress and tells you if you're on track to hit it β and by how much (early or late).
1
Go to Goals in the sidebar
2
Tap 'Create goal' in the top right
3
Name your goal
Be specific. Not 'savings' β 'Sony A7C Camera', 'Emergency Fund 6 months', 'Goa December trip', 'MacBook Pro 14-inch'. A specific name makes the goal feel real.
4
Enter the target amount
How much do you need? βΉ1,50,000 for the camera. βΉ3,00,000 for the emergency fund. βΉ45,000 for the Goa trip. Be as accurate as you can.
5
Set a deadline (optional but recommended)
When do you need the money by? The camera before your Coorg trip in November. The emergency fund by your next work anniversary. A deadline lets CiviQ calculate how much you need to save per month.
6
Enter your current saved amount (optional)
If you already have βΉ25,000 toward the camera, enter that as the starting amount. Don't start from zero if you've already started.
7
Pick an icon and color
The camera icon in purple for your camera fund. The airplane for the Goa trip. Makes goals visually distinct and satisfying to look at.
8
Tap Save
Your goal is live. CiviQ immediately calculates your required monthly savings and shows if your current rate is on track.
Adding money to a goal
Goals don't auto-deduct from your income. When you've saved some money toward a goal, go to the goal card and tap 'Add money'. Enter the amount you're setting aside. The progress bar updates.

π When you hit 100% of a goal, CiviQ marks it as completed with a β badge. That dopamine hit is real. People with concrete savings goals save 34% more on average than those without (yes, that's a real statistic).
