Plan a Purchase is CiviQ's AI-powered financial planner. You tell it what you want to buy and how much it costs. It analyses your real income, existing goals, and budget headroom — then gives you three specific paths to get there.

How to use Plan a Purchase

1
Open the AI chat panel on any page
Look for the AI panel on the right side of any page. Tap the 'Plan a purchase →' chip.
2
Enter what you want to buy
Type the item name: 'Sony A7C Camera', 'MacBook Pro 14-inch M4', 'Royal Enfield Meteor 350', 'Goa trip for 2'. Be specific — it helps the AI write a better plan.
3
Enter the cost
How much does it actually cost? Check Amazon, Croma, the dealer — get the real number. ₹1,50,000 for the camera body only, or ₹1,80,000 with a lens?
4
Tap 'Build my plan'
CiviQ analyses your last 2 months of actual income and expenses, subtracts existing goal allocations, finds budget headroom, and builds three plans. Takes about 5 seconds.
5
Read the AI narrative at the top
A short, honest 2-sentence summary of your situation. If you can't afford it without major sacrifice, it says so. If you can get there in 3 months with no changes, it says that too.
6
Choose a plan
Fast (maximize saving, more cuts), Balanced (minor adjustments, recommended), or No-change (just wait, no disruption). Each shows the exact timeline and what changes.
7
Review the confirm screen
See exactly what will be created and changed: 'New goal: Sony A7C Camera, ₹1,50,000, save ₹25,000/month, reach by November 2026'. And if budget cuts are proposed: 'Entertainment: ₹5,000 → ₹3,500'.
8
Tap 'Confirm and apply'
The goal is created. Budget limits are adjusted (if you approved them). Done.
Example
Karthik wants a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 (₹2,10,000).

CiviQ analyses:
• Monthly take-home: ₹1,25,000
• Existing expenses: ₹78,000
• Existing goal (Emergency Fund): ₹10,000/month
• Available surplus: ₹37,000

Plan B (Balanced):
• Save ₹30,000/month for 7 months
• Cut Entertainment ₹2,000, cut Shopping ₹2,000
• Get the bike by January 2027

Karthik picks Balanced. Goal created. Done.
⚠️ Nothing changes in your account until you tap 'Confirm and apply'. The plan is a proposal, not an action. You can see all three options, pick one, review the exact changes, and then decide.
