Loans live on /loans. CiviQ tracks outstanding principal, EMI schedule, payoff date, and interest remaining — and reminds you five days before each EMI.
Add a loan
- 1Open Loans in the sidebar
- 2Tap "Add loan"The Add loan dialog opens.
- 3Pick Loan typeHouse, Car, Personal, Education, Business, Card, or Other.
- 4Enter Loan namePlaceholder "SBI Home Loan, HDFC Car Loan…".
- 5Pick "How far along is this loan?"Just started — taken in the last 30 days, no EMIs paid yet. Already ongoing — you've been paying this for a while.
- 6Enter the principalIf Just started: "Loan amount (principal disbursed)". If Already ongoing: "Current outstanding principal" — get this from your bank app's Loans → Outstanding principal screen or your latest monthly statement. Don't enter the original loan amount here.
- 7Enter "Interest rate (% per year)"Use the current rate for floating loans.
- 8Enter Tenure (months) — Just started onlyUse a preset (5yr / 7yr / 10yr / 15yr / 20yr) or type the number directly. CiviQ uses this to compute the EMI.
- 9Enter Monthly EMICiviQ shows a computed value; override it if your bank charges differently.
- 10Pick Next EMI dateDate picker.
- 11Pick "EMI debited from" (optional)Pick an account chip.
- 12Tap "Add loan"The loan card appears on the Loans page.
For ongoing loans, the payoff date and interest remaining depend on the current outstanding number being accurate. Re-check it against your latest statement before saving.
