5 min read

Loans live on /loans. CiviQ tracks outstanding principal, EMI schedule, payoff date, and interest remaining — and reminds you five days before each EMI.

Add a loan

  1. 1
    Open Loans in the sidebar
  2. 2
    Tap "Add loan"
    The Add loan dialog opens.
  3. 3
    Pick Loan type
House, Car, Personal, Education, Business, Card, or Other.
  4. 4
    Enter Loan name
Placeholder "SBI Home Loan, HDFC Car Loan…".
  5. 5
Pick "How far along is this loan?"
Just started — taken in the last 30 days, no EMIs paid yet. Already ongoing — you've been paying this for a while.
  6. 6
    Enter the principal
If Just started: "Loan amount (principal disbursed)". If Already ongoing: "Current outstanding principal" — get this from your bank app's Loans → Outstanding principal screen or your latest monthly statement. Don't enter the original loan amount here.
  7. 7
Enter "Interest rate (% per year)"
Use the current rate for floating loans.
  8. 8
Enter Tenure (months) — Just started only
    Use a preset (5yr / 7yr / 10yr / 15yr / 20yr) or type the number directly. CiviQ uses this to compute the EMI.
  9. 9
    Enter Monthly EMI
CiviQ shows a computed value; override it if your bank charges differently.
  10. 10
    Pick Next EMI date
    Date picker.
  11. 11
    Pick "EMI debited from" (optional)
    Pick an account chip.
  12. 12
    Tap "Add loan"
The loan card appears on the Loans page.
For ongoing loans, the payoff date and interest remaining depend on the current outstanding number being accurate. Re-check it against your latest statement before saving.
