A split is created from an existing expense. The other person must already be a CiviQ user — the picker searches over users, not free-text contacts.
Where to go
- Create a split: Transactions → expense row → ⋯ → "Split this"
- View open splits: /split (sidebar → "Split")
- Settle a split: /split → person row → "Settle"
